The fish symbol may well be one of the most familiar of Christian symbols. (The first letters of the five Greek words for Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior, form the ancient Greek word in the fish symbol.)

FISH of Clarke County is a group of people banded together to help their neighbors. Since October 1969, FISH has been a strength and support to the troubled and needy in this county. With and through the local churches, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, the Department of Social Services, and the generous gifts of county citizens, FISH has brought people and families through countless crises and situations. Fish counselors interview applicants for financial assistance so that we might give both wisely and with compassion. Volunteers also man our Clothing and Food Banks. Our policy is to help without causing dependency.

To learn more about FISH or to volunteer go to the Clarke County Fish website or call 540 955 1823
